so... ?

Boredom gave birth to this blog. I felt like doing something, and was inspired by the Inside magazine on "how to make blogs" and I made one myself.. Have you ever heard of George Carlin? He is a genious! My mom wanted me to watch some of his stand-up shows on YouTube yesterday, and reluctantly I said yes, and I'm glad I did! He talks about everything from religion, planets and similarities between people. My favourites now are: ProLife/Anti-woman, Religion is bullshit and similarities. It's very funny.. He died not long ago though :(

Faces around the world..

Mad world

I wonder why blogs and magazines and reading about other people's lives is so interesting.. I guess people have a "compare gene" which makes us "happy" when he read tragic stories about others and think: "glad that didn't happen to me or glad that I'm not like that." Might be why the media always has breaking and frightening news instead of: Today a bird found his way back to the pond and Grandma Gretha planted a beautiful garden and is feeling great.

Gogol Bordello

Facebook and blogs are like open diaries (even though most people wouldn't write really private stuff.. obviously). if you wonder who isn't single anymore or has broken up, moved, is sick, has birthday etc just check facebook. It's kind of strange to think about.. It's not that special when people say happy birthday to me anymore because I know it's a reminder on facebook days before the big day.. hehe.

Aesop Rock

Ace: Aesop Rock, one of my favourite musicians! When I heard the album Labor Days i was in love! I even saw him live at Blaa in Oslo, and he touched my head while he was singin directly to me.. haha, brag brag:D anyways, the songs I like the most right now are:

Labor, Catacomb Kids, Holy Smokes, None Shall Pass, Coffee, Keep Off the Lawn.

Legendary

James Dean (who died when he was only 25!) was a great actor, and played in East of Eden to mention one. (He is also hot:D) You could call him the male Marilyn Monroe type, a face that is very nice on vintage/retro posters and stuff like that. He has cool style too.

I <3 Asia

I love the culture and colours of Asia, and this post is dedicated to some asian stuff:) I love sari, and think it's the nicest national costume I have seen, much nicer than the norwegian Bunad costume.. Also some Bollywood movies are quite cool, but I'm not that fond of the dubbed singing voices (or actually only one voice wich is used in all bollywoodmovies) for the women.. sounds like an old woman.. hehe.

Bollywood poster and various other photographs. The picture of the girl is taken by National Geoographic in a refugecamp in Afghanistan in the 80s.. if I remember correctly. Beautiful eyes!

Vintage posters "Shanghai Lady in Green Dress" and "Miss Tokyo". Vintage is hot..!

Lolita.. Lo, or Dolly Haze

So.. my love for the Nabokov novel Lolita started a year ago.. when I read it. My friend and I wanted to use it for a project, and that was why we started reading it in the first place, she didn't like it as much as I did though. It is so mysterious and indirect, but at the same time you understand what is really happening (I'm not going to talk about the plot, you should read it yoursef if you haven't yet:P). And did I mention that my friend and I saw a huge resemblance with the Edgar Allan Poe poem Annabelle Lee and this novel?? Well, we did, and we were feeling like the most brilliant persons.. until we checked it out, and wikipedia had pages on pages about it.. he he

Other nice stuff I'd like to share..

No.1

First post...
and showing my love to Ghost World! Just bought the graphic novel as well, and have started reading it now, so far so good, but the movie rocks.

I guess I felt like making a blog to post pictures and stuff I find interesting or really like/dislike.. hehe. So, here is a tribute to ghost word (the movie, because I haven't read the comic.. yet!) Anyways.. I don't have much to write about now.. Enid: "I can't relate to 99% of humanity."

Pretty things:
Above: Both Doutzen Kroes pictures (one in Uganda)

Above: Audrey Hepburn
Above: Grace Kelly
Above: Adriana Lima

Later I'll post more pics that I've taken, but right now I'll manage by posting nice things I've found on the internett of different people and things.. enjoy!

Twin Peaks! Favourite series ever, next to the danish Riget by Lars Von Trier. If you haven't seen them, your life can't be fulfilled.. :P
